Chandigarh: The issue of land allocation to the Rajiv Gandhi Charitable Trust has once again rattled Punjab and Haryana High Court. The Haryana government had given the land worth crores of rupees to the trust on lease for 33 years.

Acting on a PIL filed by the residents of Ullawas area, the high court has directed the state government to reply before November 25.

The petition alleges that in order to please a few people, the government gave land worth crores of rupees to the trust on lease at throw away price, Rs 3 lakh per acre. This decision was taken in a meeting of state cabinets on August 21, 2009.
