Chandjgarh: If a survey conducted by the Industry body ASSOCHAM is to be believed, Bangalore could well lose its status of being the IT capital of the country. The survey conducted by Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India has revealed that IT companies prefer cities like Noida, Gurgaon and Chandigarh for future investments.

As per the report, the availability of better basic and modern infrastructure, the NCR and cities like Chandigarh are being preferred by the IT companies.

ASSOCHAM conducted this survey on 800 CEOs, managing directors, directors and Chief Financial Officers of various companies in and outside Bangalore.

ASSOCHAM secretary general DS Rawat said that slow growth of infrastructure in Bangalore is compelling many companies to head towards more convenient and industrial-friendly centres.

Of the total respondents, 75 percent companies wanted to move towards Noida, Gurgaon or Chandigarh.
While 30 per cent of IT companies said they preferred Gurgaon, 25 percent wanted to relocate operations to Noida and about 20 per cent preferred Chandigarh.

While 15 per cent of respondents said they prefer Pune, 10 percent wanted to relocate their business to Hyderabad.
