New Delhi: Minutes after Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt got partial relief from the Suprme Court which granted him four weeks time on ‘humanitarian grounds’ to surrender before jail authorities, Zaibunissa Kazi’s daughter Shagufta expressed their displeasure over the verdict.

According to reports, Shagufta while reacting to SC verdict on Dutt said, that it was very important to be a celebrity in this country. “I wish my mother was a celebrity,” she was quoted as saying.

On Tuesday, the Apex Court refused to extend time for surrender for Zaibunissa Kazi and two others convicted in the blasts case. The Supreme Court directed them to surrender by April 18.

However, the SC accepted Sanjay Dutt’s plea on ‘humanitarian grounds’ extending the time for surrender which was to expire on April 18.

Both Kazi and Dutt were charged under TADA Act for aiding and abetting a terrorist act and the Arms Act. But Dutt was held guilty only under the Arms Act while Kazi was convicted under TADA too.
