New Delhi: Congress leader and Indian Olympic Association (IOA) vice president Jagdish Tytler on Friday sought immediate removal of Suresh Kalmadi as president of the organization if he does not resign on his own.

Tytler said, "The person for whom the entire sporting fraternity of India has faced such humiliation, should take the moral responsibility and should resign from the post immediately. If he doesn't resign he should be kicked out.”

He also accused Kalmadi of being responsible for the humiliation of the country's sports face.

“There are some differences with Sports Minister Ajay Maken on the issue but he is also in favour of his removal,” he added.

Maken had said he was uncomfortable with the idea of Kalmadi returning as the President of the Indian Olympic Association after his release from jail.

Kalmadi was granted bail earlier this month by the Delhi High Court after spending nearly nine months in prison in connection with a corruption case related to the CWG scam.
