‘Jai Ho’, one of the most awaited movies of 2014, has managed to pull up a good crowd in theaters on the first day. According to reports by a website, the film has collected nearly Rs 17.50 crore at the domestic box office on the opening day.

According to reports, Salman Khan and Daisy Shah starrer film, which released in 4,400 screens in the domestic market, has registered 95-100 percent occupancy in both multiplexes and single screens in Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, Delhi and Ahmadabad.

Reportedly, the response for ‘Jai Ho’ was a bit lower in the north Indian cities, where the movie has got an average of 70-85 percent occupancy in the morning and matinee shows. But it can be expected that the business of ‘Jai Ho’ might shoot up in the coming days. Unlike ‘Dhoom’ and ‘Chennai Express’, the price of tickets for ‘Jai Ho’ have been kept low.

Though the opening collection of ‘Jai Ho’ is satisfactory but the movie is in no way even close to Salman’s record breaking movie ‘Ek Tha Tiger’. Trade analysts are hoping that the film would do a good business over the weekend but the lower price of tickets will obstruct it from emerging as a record breaking movie.
