Jaipur: The preparations are in full swing for the Pravasi Bharatiya Sammelan to be held in the Pink City from January 7-9, 2012. Delegates from various countries will be paying a visit to India of which Malaysia is expected to participate with the largest delegation.

Although the event will take off on January 7, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will officially inaugurate the event on January 8, while President Pratibha Patil will remain present on the concluding day of the programme.

The event will be organized at BM Birla Auditorium where more than 1500 Non-Resident Indians are expected to attend the programme. While 1,100 representatives have already been registered, 700 NRIs have confirmed their participation in the event.

For the first time, big groups from various industries are about to come to India for the much awaited event organized by the Bureau of Investment Promotion, Rajasthan Foundation and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).

It is expected that the programme will attract global industrial houses to Rajasthan and others parts of India for investment. The Centre and the state government are putting in their best efforts to ensure the success of the programme.
