New Delhi: With a view to take stock of the ground reality of the naxal hit areas of Jharkhand, Union Rural Development Minister Jairam Ramesh will hold discussions with the District Magistrates of the affected districts during his two day visit to state.

Ramesh is likely to hold meeting with Chief Minister Arjun Munda to review the progress report of the rural development schemes being carried out in Jharkhand.

Several complaints have already been reported in the implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana in the state. Issues related to the denial of contractor refusing to work in naxal affected belts have also been brought to the Centre’s notice.

Naxal affected states have sent proposals to the Centre to get the pending projects completed by the local contractors.
