New Delhi: Union ministers Beni Prasad Verma and Sriprakash Jaiswal who are facing the flak of the EC for allegedly violating the model code of conduct are likely to respond on the notices served to them on Monday.

While Sriprakash Jaiswal will file his reply for his comment, “If the Congress gets majority, it will form the government and in case we don't get clear majority, we are ready to sit in the opposition. I see no alternative but Governor's Rule in the state,” Beni Prasad Verma will explain his stand on the daring act where he had said, “Reservation quota for Muslims will be increased and if the EC wants, it can now issue a notice to me.”

Many ministers till date have come under the EC radar for violation of mode code of conduct. Significantly, maximum numbers of ministers are from the Congress.

Sriprakash Jaiswal became the third Congress minister after Beni Prasad Verma and Salman Khurshid to violate the model code of conduct.

However, the EC have till date only issued notices in this regard.
