Jaipur: Slamming the Centre over rampant corruption, leader of opposition in Rajya Sabha, Arun Jaitely stressed on the need of bringingn Lokpal bill to check the corrupt practices. He pointed out that corruption was on the rise in the country and therefore someone has to be allotted the responsibility to tighten the noose around the guilty .

However, he did not fail to mention that the functional area of Lokpal should be limited to corruption only and the jurisdiction of Parliament should not be breached.

In a meeting with few intellectuals at a Jaipur hotel on Friday, Jaitely said, “Though Centre is holding dialogues on Lokpal Bill but no one knows about the details of ongoing  conversations and process.” He was annoyed that the opposition parties have not been included for framing policies for the Lokpal Bill.

Jaitely said, “Gone are the days of two party system in the country now the era of two alliance systems has began.” He maintained that the impact of two alliance system will be felt after few years.

He added the concept of third front has demolished after the Left front’s debacle in assembly elections in Kerala and West Bengal.

Jaitely stated that he failed to understand the reason behind Centre’s hesitation in holding discussions with Pakistan. “It is a well known fact that Pakistan is a safe haven for terrorists,” he added.

Jaitely said “India has been struggling with terrorists for the long time. UPA Government has failed to take concrete step against terrorists due to its weak policies.”

He said the Centre is misusing CBI for framing fake charges against BJP leaders. Speaking on Kashmir, he said “No solution of this issue has could be found for the last six decades. Most of the countrymen agree to BJP ideology in this regard but the Congress-led UPA government is yet indecisive.”
