London: British actor Jamie Bell says he has "always" seen himself starring as Tintin.

The 25-year-old actor, who stars in the titular character in 'The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn' 10 years after he was first approached by director Steven Spielberg, admits he was too inexperienced to take on the role when he was first approached, a website reported.

"Tintin has always been on my radar, it's something that's a personal thing. I always see myself as him to a degree, I think a lot of people see themselves as him. There's an ownership that people have over him for some reason,” said Bell.

"I was 15 when I first met Steven for it but I was not prepared to really be working with him at that point in my life. I hadn't done enough work and I hadn't worked with enough people. I'm glad the film didn't come together at that time because I think it would've been a totally different movie," he said.
