Kargil was the coldest place in the state followed by Leh town where the mercury settled at a low of minus 12.4 degrees Celsius, a MeT Department official said.
    
Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, recorded a minimum temperature of 0.6 degree Celsius, a slight drop from the last night's one degree Celsius.
    
Mercury in Qazigund - the gateway town to Kashmir Valley - settled at 0.2 degrees Celsius, same as the previous night.     

Temperature in the tourist resort of Pahalgam fell by several degrees to settle at minus 6.7 degrees Celsius as compared to minus 1.2 degrees Celsius previous night.
    
The famous ski-resort of Gulmarg recorded a low of minus 8 degrees Celsius, nearly four degrees down from the previous night’s minus 4.2 degrees Celsius.
    
The mercury in Kokernag, in South Kashmir, settled at a low of minus 3.3 degrees Celsius last night as against the previous night’s minimum of minus 0.2 degrees Celsius.
    
Kupwara, which recorded a low of 0.2 degrees Celsius the previous night, settled at freezing point last night.
