Jammu: The introduction of e-tendering service by the J-K government to bring transparency in the development projects has started gaining momentum. In order to address the complaints like misappropriation of funds and nepotism in the tender allotment process, the Chief Minister of the state has already issued the orders of adopting e-tendering process for tender allotment and other formalities, in a bid to bring transparency and rule out any scam in the development projects. E-tendering is now being used in the Central government’s projects also.

The state government commenced the e-tendering service with the Pradhan Mantri Sadak Yojna (PMSY). Notably, the chief engineer of the department used the e-tendering service for the tenders of roads of the Reasi and Ramban division. In Reasi division roads are to be made from Ransu till Pauni block, from Pancheri to Janori and from Lander to Lolanpath and in Ramban division, from Seri to Sencha, Khunga to Kothi Jagir and from Kheri to Shagan. E-tendering has been used to issue tenders for the road construction in these areas. Contractors will have to fill the tender forms online.
