Anna was addressing a huge gathering at an event organised by Nav Jyoti India Foundation at Naya Gaon village here on Friday.
He said, “The days are numbered for those who are criticising and creating obstacles in the path of Jan Lokpal Bill. At present, 400 officers and half-a-dozen politicians are facing corruption charges. This is the result of mass movement. Jan Lokpal Bill will abolish corruption and the nation will develop.”
Stating that entire nation is extending support to Team Anna, he expressed confidence that Jan Lokpal will be passed during the ongoing Winter Session of the Parliament.
The function was organized by the NGO run by Anna’s team member Kiran Bedi. The residents of two dozen villages from the adjacent areas gathered to listen to the Gandhian activist.
Anna also advocated for further empowering the Gram Sabhas, adding “If Gram Sabha is strengthened, villages will develop and hence, the nation will prosper.”
Expressing concern over plight of farmers in the country, he urged the government to extend help to improve their socio- economic conditions.
He appealed to the youths for their support and added that Jan Lokpal Bill will be passed at any cost.
His team member Kiran Bedi, members of Nav Jyoti India Foundation and villagers of more than two-dozen villages were present on the occasion.
