New Delhi: The fierce battle against Left Wing Extremist (LWE) and killing top Maoist leader Kishenji in encounter has forced other members of the Maoist group to flee away from Jangalmahal. According to the intelligence reports of central security agency, the Maoists are now heading towards Jharkhand and Orissa forests.

A senior official from the security agency claimed that the Maoists infested Jangalmahal will soon be free from insurgents. More so, if intelligence reports are to be believed, the red-terrors fled away from the areas owing to the local public resentment against them.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in her two rallies tried to communicate directly with the general public in order to reinforce trust in them. Her move has been supported by 10,000 youths who have joined police forces. As the Maoists were opposing recruitment in police forces, initiative which was taken by the local public has given serious jolt to the Left Wing Extremist outfit.

According to a senior official in security agency, Mamata’s political move to curb the Maoist menace has also helped security forces. Local people have extended their supports to the police forces. Now, they communicate with the police and inform them about the Maoists activities.

Meanwhile, the government is not giving any consideration to reduce the numbers of security forces in Jangalmahal.
