New Delhi: A delegation of jat leaders led by Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Tuesday met Union Home Minister P Chidambaram and demanded inclusion of the community in Other Backward Classes (OBCs) category.

The delegation comprising jat leaders from Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh said inclusion of jats in OBC category will be a socially just decision as it will ensure reservation in jobs to the community.

Chidambaram assured the delegation that he would ask the National Commission for Backward Classes to expedite its report on the demand, officials said.
