Patna:  The two time JD (U) legislator Jagmato Devi passed away in Siwan district of Bihar on Sunday. In 2005 state assembly election Jagmato was elected from Raghunathpur Assembly Constituency in 2005, and in 2010 polls she was won the Daraunda assembly seat. Her last rights were performed on Sunday.

Among the prominent political personalities to attend the funeral rituals included Bihar Assembly Speaker Uday Narayan Choudhary, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Bihar HRD Minister PK Shahi, legislators and party leaders.

Expressing deep sorrow over her death, the CM said, “She was a eminent political personality, who was dedicated to the cause of people coming from downtrodden section of the society.” Kumar further added, in her political career Jagmato had often take up the cause of females.

Assembly Speaker Uday Narayan Choudhary said, “Jagmato Devi was a kind hearted, soft-spoken and a charismatic personality, and her death has created a void which will be hard to fill.”
