Bangalore,Feb 03(Agencies):Opposition JD-S along with Left parties would stage dharna on February Eight to protest price rise and "flawed" policies of the Centre.

JD-S chief H D Deve Gowda told reporters that price of essential commodities had risen because of the "flawed policies" of the UPA government and due to hoarding by veste interests.
  
 He also demanded that the state government take action against illegal hoarding which had resulted in the situation.
   
Nagaraj,General Secretary of CPI-M said the February 8 protest would culminate the next day in New Delhi where a protest against price rise will be held.

 He alleged that futures and forward trading had resulted in price rise and the food grain availability in the country had slipped compared to the US and China.

The parties demanded a universal food distribution system and immediate disbursal of rice and wheat stored in various godowns and encouraging food production.

 It also demanded reduction in tax structure on petroleum products to ease the inflation situation.
   
A demonstration would also be held against price rise on February 23 by trade unions, he said.
   
On the demand for a JPC probe in the 2G spectrum scam, Nagaraj said a decision would be taken on February nine.
   
Gowda said though the JD-S favoured a JPC, it would not stall proceedings of Parliament during the Budget session.
