Joint Entrance Examination, an all India common entrance examination, is conducted for admission in Engineering colleges, preferably IITs.

Around 13 lakh students appeared for the JEE- Main examination that was conducted both online and offline. The exam is distinguished between Paper 1 (for admission in B tech) and paper 2 (for admission in B Arch and B planning). Paper 1 was held in both online and offline modes, while Paper 2 was conducted in offline mode only.

The eligibility to write the JEE Advanced exam was totally based on the performance in the JEE Main examination. The JEE syllabus comprises 45 percent of 11th standard and 55 percent of 12th standard syllabus.

With JEE results, students can take admission in 16 IITs, which are located in Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Delhi, Gandhinagar, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Jodhpur, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Mandi, Mumbai, Patna, Ropar, Roorkee and Varanasi.

Last year, the JEE results were announced on May 3.
