Los Angeles: Singer-actress Jennifer Hudson is reportedly in talks to star in a remake of Whitney Houston's hit movie "The Bodyguard".
The 1992 movie which starred the late pop diva and Kevin Costner has been the subject of plans for an update for sometime but now Houston's tragic death has given the project a new direction, as reported.
"The idea is to make "The Bodyguard" as a tribute to Whitney with her natural successor Jennifer Hudson in the lead role. She showed at the Grammys that she can be as big a star as Whitney. She is the perfect choice for any remake," a source said.
Houston died under mysterious circumstances in her Beverly Hills hotel on February 11. Her funeral is to take place today and will be broadcast live on internet.
