An officer from Mulund police station said, “Modus operandi opted by the three accused, as clearly seen in the CCTV footage, was that a man and a woman were keeping the salesman engaged by asking him to show ornaments put on display. While he was busy, their woman accomplice made away with the ornaments. The store lost six gold bangles worth Rs 2.73 lakh and two necklaces costing Rs 1.96 lakh.”
All the three accused have been booked for theft.
Store manager Bitu Polke, however, refused to comment on the issue when contacted.
