New Delhi: According to a report of the Jharkhand CID submitted with the Home Ministry, former Chief Minister Madhu Koda was thrashed inside the Bisra Munda Jail by the inmates and not the jail staff. The CID report handed over on Sunday maintained that the poor quality of food sparked off the dispute between the jail inmates and Koda.

Koda is presently lodged in the Bisra Munda Jail, where he is in judicial custody in connection with a muti-crore scam.
As Koda is a MP from Chaibasa, the news has also reached to the Lok Sabha Speaker, sources said.

However, the issue of Koda thrashing has yet not grabbed the attention of the National Human Rights Commission and the National Commission for Scheduled Tribes.

The Home Ministry after assault of Koda and two other Ministers in the prison had asked for the Jharkhand government report on the issue. Home Secretary of the state, JB Tubid after conducting the CID investigation has sent the report to the Centre. The report also contains the statement of another MLA, Sawan Lakda who at the time of the incident was lodged inside the same jail.

The report states that Koda is a prisoner of VIP grade. Without the information of the jail authorities, he met the undertrails who were protesting against the poor quality of food, the report claimed. The report further mentioned that the former CM was thrashed by the inmates and the allegation was leveled on the Jail administration.
