While addressing the party workers on Monday, Jharkhand Agriculture Minister Yogendra Sahu said, “I worked hard to become a minister. I did everything from Sonia Gandhi to Rahul Gandhi which I can’t elaborate here. To become a minister, one has to do everything - from fixing shoes to religious chants.”

Sahu also admitted that he is not satisfied with the portfolio allocated by Chief Minister Hemant Soren. “Despite these hard efforts, I was allocated one department. I want more. What I want is to grab at least 2 – 3 departments more.”

Sahu, however, later retract from his statement saying that his remarks were misinterpreted and he will perform his duty with full devotion, honesty and dedication.

Meanwhile, Congress general secretary and in charge of Jharkhand BK Hariprasad suggested Chief Minister Hemant Soren to sack Sahu if allegations leveled by him are found to be true.

Jharkhand Cabinet was expanded on Saturday with the induction of three more members taking the total number of ministers in the state to 12 including the Chief Minister.

The JMM and the Congress has five ministers each while the RJD has two in the Hemant Soren-led coalition government. Backed by Congress, RJD, smaller parties and Independent MLAs, the JMM had on July 9 staked claim to form the government under the leadership of Hemant Soren and sailed through the floor test on July 18.
