Ranchi: In order to expedite the pace of development in Jharkhand, Shibu Soren led-State Coordination Committee (SCC) has advocated a separate budget for agriculture sector.

The SCC meeting presided over by Soren laid special thrust on the rural development and social security. The panel also mandated the Jharkhand’s long standing demand for the special status.

Several leaders including Chief Minister Arjun Munda, Deputy Chief Minister Hemant Soren, Sudesh Mahato, Abhaykant Prasad and Devsharan Bhagat attended the meeting.

After the meeting, Arjun Munda said, “The discussion has been held on separate budget for agriculture and agriculture cabinet to boost the moribund sector. The agriculture budget aims at developing better infrastructure in the farming sector.
On the issue of special status to Jharkhand, Munda said, “The condition of Jharkhand is different from that of other states. The Centre should accord special status to Jharkhand.”

The flagship programmes such as Dal-Bhat Scheme, Ladli Laxmi Scheme and Right to Service Act will be closely monitored so that desired result can be derived, the CM added.

Ministers (In charge of districts) will hold meeting for successful implementation of the district schemes, informed Munda.

If the MNREGA budget is prepared on the basis of local needs, comparatively better result will come out, suggested the CM.

Citing limited resources, the CM advocated for Public Private Partnership (PPP) model for urban development.
