Ranchi: Officials of Jharkhand Education Board remained on a pen down strike on Monday demanding revision in their pay scales, promotions and group insurance.

DEO (District Education Officer) including BEEO of all blocks and officials of Jharkhand Education Board participated in this strike.

As it was a token strike, officials put their signature in the office register but did not do any work.

However, work was not hampered as a few officials of higher education as well as Secondary education did not participate in it. However, work in district offices as well as in block level offices was disrupted due to this strike.

Officials of the state have announced to remain on en-masse leave on August 14 followed by an indefinite strike from August 29.

It is to be noted that officials of state education service are on strike demanding benefit of MSCP including creation of more posts, their identification and regular promotions. Whereas, project officials are on strike demanding revision in their pay scales, promotions and group insurance.
