Chaibasa: The daughters of Saranda in Jharkhand will soon be seen protecting the industrial houses in the state. With the joint efforts of the CRPF 197 battalion and self-help group ‘Sahyog’, 35 girls from the Naxal affected areas are being trained to become private security guards under the programme ‘Operation Conversion’.

In order to economically strengthen the girls of Naxal affected areas and bring them to the mainstream, the programme has been initiated from February 27.

On the fourth day of the operation, a training session was organised for the girls in the premises of 197 CRPF battalion’s District Welfare Department.

The presentation given by the girls on physical training and foot drill on Thursday mesmerized the mediapersons and the CRPF jawans.

All the girls undergoing training are from Naxal affected areas of Saranda district.

The CRPF’s initiative to groom the girls who have witnessed extreme Naxal violence is being considered as a commendable job. The programme aims at making them economically self dependant besides infusing confidence in the villagers towards development.

According to the officials, after completing a three-month long training, the girls with the help of NGOs and the state administration will be deployed in industrial houses as private security guards.
