Ranchi: The Jharkhand Government on Wednesday refused to hand over to CBI the case of alleged irregularities in conducting the second Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) examination.

Replying to a query of Congress MLA Bana Gupta during question hour in the House, HRD Minister Baijnath Ram said it was not necessary to hand over the matter to the Central investigative agency as it was being probed by the state vigilance bureau.

In July 24, 2009, as many as 19 officials were dismissed during President's Rule in connection with the alleged merit scam during the second Civil Services examination conducted by the JPSC.

The High Court had ordered to re-instate 11 of them earlier this year.

Former JPSC members were arrested by the vigilance sleuth after an FIR was filed on June 13, 2010 in connection with the scam.
