Jamshedpur: The Jharkhand government has initiated steps to empower women and suggested that those in rural pockets form self help groups to avail the benefits of the government schemes.
 
"We can think of achieving the development target only by involving the women," he told the gathering at Vikas Mela organised by East Singhbhum district administration in Jamshedpur.
 
He also stressed on the need for women’s safety. Later, Munda inaugurated schemes worth Rs.18.19 crores online and distributed uniforms among 100 school children and 100 bicycles among girl students of the district.
 
The chief minister also blessed 100 couples who tied the knot under Mukhya Mantri Kanyadaan Yojana and distributed Kisan Credit cards among 100 women farmers, taking the figure to 5000 this year.
