Jamshedpur: Governor Syed Ahmed's directives to deploy Muslim officials at police stations in minority-dominated areas would "demoralise" officials from the minority community, BJP Jharkhand unit president Dineshanand Goswami claimed on Wednesday.

Referring to a report published in a section of media in this regard, Goswami said the directives were issued as per the Sachar Committee recommendation.

"Such step would not only disturb the prevailing social harmony but also demoralise the officials from the minority community," Goswami told a press conference here. "Besides, it would promote communalisation of government employees," he said.

About the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha-Congress move to form an alternative government in the state, Goswami said the state
Assembly should be dissolved and fresh election be held as no party or alliance has the mandate to form a popular government.

He said BJP would raise the issue about the Jharkhand Governor's directives in the upcoming Budget Session of Parliament.
