Ranchi: Considering the gravity of land encroachment, Jharkhand High Court on Tuesday directed the heads of Ranchi Regional Development Authority (RRDA) and Ranchi Municipal Corporation (RMC) to appear before it on September 19 to answer a petition.

The two judge bench of Justice Poonam Srivastava and Justice P P Bhatt issued the direction to RRDA and RMC while hearing a petition filed by one Ashish Kumar Singh against alleged illegal encroachment at Ranchi main road.

The bench said, “Encroachments at main roads are creating immense problem to common man.”

Officials of RRDA and RMC have to give answer in court regarding what date encroachments will be removed.
