Ranchi: Jharkhand Assembly Speaker C P Singh on Tuesday read out names of only 19 MLAs who have declared their assets even as no one in the Arjun Munda cabinet figured in the list.
The Speaker, who had on Monday pulled up members for jumping the March 31, 2011 deadline, set a fresh date on Wednesday for the remaining 62 members in the 82-member House (one seat vacant) to submit their property declarations as per a directive received by the Union Law ministry.
"We had already declared our assets during (Assembly) elections. Just on Monday we got a letter to submit declarations by Wednesday, and we will do it," HRD Minister Baijnath Ram told reporters when asked why no minister figured in the list of submissions.
Disaster Management Minister Gopal Krishna Patar also said he would submit his assets within the deadline.

The Speaker had on Monday termed it "sad" because of the lukewarm response by the members in declaring their assets despite the first deadline of March 31.
The Congress topped the list with seven members who declared their assets followed by the ruling BJP at six, besides the Speaker and one each from CPI (ML-Liberation), Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (Prajatantric), Marxist Coordination Committee, the RJD and one independent MLA submitting their declarations to the Assembly Secretariat.
