Sources said that three members of new ultra outfit ‘Sashastra People's Morcha’ (SPM) were arrested by special police team during search operation.

Superintendent of Police, YS Ramesh, said that the Maoists were involved in setting ablaze three machines of a private firm. The machines were engaged in social forestry project, he added.

“We had information that five people are in the group and arrested three of them,” said YS Ramesh.
He further said, “We are yet to nab the other two ultras.”

The Maoists have been killing policemen, politicians and targeting government buildings and railway tracks since 1960s.
