Ranchi: In a startling revelation, many government schools in Jharkhand are found in dilapidated condition while some of them are being run in rented buildings. The gloomy image of education system in the state has come to light after an RTI filed by Dainik Jagran.

However, the state has been receiving regular funds from the Centre for upgrading school education and boosting infrastructure, but nothing has happened in this regard.

BIT High School is being run in the campus of Birla Institute of Technology (BIT Mesra). A teacher of the school, Vijay Kishore Singh, said, “The school has been allotted a land in the BIT Mesra campus but none of us knows where it is. There is no enough space for students to study as well as for their extracurricular activities. We face great problems in such a condition.”

Another school running in Nivaranpur area of the state capital, Brahmacharya Sangh Vidyapeeth, is also facing the brunt of the lackadaisical approach of the state government.

Amarnath, a teacher of the school, said that the presence of students is going down due to the poor condition of school building.
