Ranchi: Jharkhand Chief Minister Arjun Munda has issued orders to form sixth Indian Reserve Battalion in the state which would include only the notified primitive tribes as its members.

The tribes would also get relaxation in qualification for posts of group C and D. The CM has asked the Department of Home Affairs to initiate the process of forming sixth tribal battalion.

There would be 1007 vacancies in the tribal battalion for which an appointment committee is set to be formed.

The members of appointment committee would include commandant or senior officers of Para Military Force nominated by the Union Home Ministry.

The state government would make rules to determine the terms of services and put it before the Cabinet for approval.

It should be mentioned that the Jharkhand government has formed five Indian Reserve Battalion in the state. The battalion would include tribes of Munda, Santhal, Kharia, Gond, Kol, Kanwar, sabar, Asur, Baiga, Banjara, Bathudi and others.
