Ranchi: Taking a leaf out of the book of Delhi and Tamil Nadu, the Jharkhand High Court has asked the state government to formulate a law to check the menace of eve-teasing. Terming eve-teasing as a major problem, the HC observed that stringent steps should be initiated in this regard.

Chief Justice Prakash Tatiya said, “Senior citizens will have to come forward to fight the menace and females too are required to turn up with relevant solution to check eve-teasing.”

He observed, “The photos of the person caught on charges of eve-teasing should not be made public. Rather they should be given an opportunity to rectify their mistake.”

In his observation, Tatiya maintained that none had the permission to take the law in their hands and the so-called sympathizers of the society should keep away from this issue.
