Ranchi: Now the VVIPs and police personnel can easily move in naxal affected areas without any signs of fear as the Jharkhand government is going to purchase electronic mine diffuser vehicles that can easily help in identifying the locations of the landmines and diffuse it.

The Home Department has sent the proposal of purchasing 48 electronic vehicles to the state government for its final approval.

As per the proposal the total cost in buying the electronic mine diffusers is set at Rs 22.18 crore.

Notably, after the recent blast attacks on Chatra MP Inder Singh Namdhari and the Lohardaga police, the state police were looking for better and effective alternatives that can help in beefing up security arrangements especially for the VVIPs, besides averting any tragic incident.

Equipments like electronic jammer ‘Ashi’ and mobile interceptor ‘Lata’ launched by Bharat Electronic Limited have been provided to the state police. Both are easy in operation. While the electronic jammer helps in blocking communication signals, the interceptor can be beneficial in tracing the incoming and outgoing phone calls from the jail premises. Suspected phone numbers can be easily traced out through these mediums.
