Dulmi (Ramgarh): A major accident was averted on Wednesday when a train passed safely on the tracks over the three underlying powerful bombs of 25 kilograms each.

The timely action by the police saved many lives as they retrieved three cane bombs from the culvert near Sikni village railway crossing, 1.5 kilometres from Gola station of Muri-Barkana. The bombs were enclosed in oil boxes.

Acting on the clue, SP, Ramgarh immediately ordered the search for bombs under the guidance of DSP. When the police failed to find any bombs, shepherd Mishr Lal Mahto saw the bombs and informed a JRP jawan.  As soon as the senior officials received the information, the jawans were rushed to the spot.

All the trains on the route were cancelled and high scale search operation was carried out after which three powerful bombs were carefully retrieved from the bottom of the culvert.

It is to be noted, Adra-Barkanna at 7 AM, an engine at 11 AM and a goods trains at noon had already passed over the track.

Role of naxals is expected behind laying the bombs on tracks.
