Kaithal: Congress MP Naveen Jindal has decided to run a public awareness campaign to honour the national flag. The founder of Flag Foundation and eminent businessman Naveen Jindal has taken the resolution to hoist the tricolor on a 207 feet high flag pole in all the state capitals and prominent cities.

The first historical flag pole was established at Kaithal in Haryana on January 23 2009. Cities of, Ladwa, Hisar, Sonipat, Jaipur, Bengaluru, Angul, Vijayanagar and Kurukshetra have already taken up this initiative.

President Pratibha Devi Singh Patil herself hoisted the tricolor at holy Brahma Sarovar in Kurukshetra this week. It is planned to unfurl the tricolor on a 100 feet high flag pole in all the district headquarters across the country.
 
72 feet long and 48 feet broad tricolours are being unfurled in these flag poles. Jindal has planned to unfurl 207 feet high tricolor in Delhi’s Connaught place, Mumbai’s Chowpatty, Marina beach in Chennai and Thiruvananthapuram.

After Jindal’s decade long legal battle the Supreme Court on January23 2004 gave the right to every citizen to unfurl the tricolor with full respect and dignity.
