Gwalior: Taking serious note of the frequent protest and demonstrations organized by the student organisation, Jiwaji University has decided to implement a model code of conduct for the protesting students.  The students will now have to inform the university authority about the protest a day before organising it.

Interestingly, college will also decide the slogans to be raised by the students.

The latest diktat of the university has infuriated the student union. Claiming it to be a step to curb their fundamental right of speech and expression, the students have decided to protest against the new code of conduct.

Annoyed leaders of ABVP and NSUI are of the view that students face problems due to delay in result declaration, which force them to hold demonstrations.

Over the last few months, the student unions of Jiwaji University have conducted frequent protest for delay in examination results and wrong evaluation of marks.

Moreover, what adds to the plight of the student is that the Vice Chancellor does not meet students and discuss their problems. If students conduct protest, VC only demands for memorandum.

Speaking on this issue, the Registrar of the University, Anand Mishra said, “New rules have been formulated to control ruckus on the university campus and to maintain the dignity of the Vice Chancellor."
