Battling against hurdles caused by the floods which had left all banking operations out of gear, Jammu and Kashmir Bank has made 312 business units (branches), out of a total of 379, and 189 automated teller machines (ATMs) operational in the Valley, spokesman of the bank, Anil Sharma said on Wednesday night.

Over Rs 72 crore were withdrawn from the branches and over Rs 13 crores from ATMs of the bank across the Valley, he said.

People across the Valley, especially in Srinagar city where 42 branches out of 88 branches have been made operational, have hailed the efforts of the bank.

The management of the bank has been working round the clock to ensure 100 percent restoration of all delivery points of the bank in the Valley, he said.
