Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Cable Car Corporation (JKCCC) has earned a revenue of nearly Rs 13 crores during the first quarter of the current fiscal against a target of Rs 23 crores for 2012-13.
    
The Cable Car Corporation has earned a revenue of Rs 12.93 crore during the first quarter of the current financial year, which constitutes around 57 percent of the target set for the year, an official spokesman said after the 30th meeting of the Board of Directors of the Corporation here yesterday.
    
The meeting, chaired by Tourism Minister Nawang Rigzin Jora, set a target of Rs 23 crore revenue for the corporation for the FY2012-13.
    
The status of various ropeway projects in the state--which includes Rs 3.26 crore Makhdoom Sahib Ropeway Project, Ropeway Project Peerkho temple to Mahamaya, Rs 4.50 crore ropeway projects at Aishmuqam, and ropeway project at Shiv Khori in Reasi-– were reviewed during the meeting, the spokesman said.
    
The meeting also discussed measures for upgrading and overhauling of the Gondola Project, Gulmarg.
    
The corporation has introduced e-governance and the tourists and skiers are now being provided boarding passes through online booking facility.
    
The WIFI networking and time and attendance Management System for the employees have also been completed.
    
The Gulmarg Development Authority (GDA) has provided Rs 19 lakh while the Cable Car Corporation invested an amount of Rs 13 lakh for WIFI and the project has been implemented through Kashmir University.
    
The Board also approved an incentive equal to one percent of the corporation's annual revenue upto a maximum of Rs 23 lakh for the employees as token of appreciation and encouragement for working in extreme different conditions at the Gondola project.
