He was admitted earlier this week following chest pain. He is presently sick and requires oxygen therapy, although he is hemodynamically stable. The CM continues to be on antibiotics, antifungal drugs and supportive therapy and is being closely monitored by a team of experts.

According to his doctors, the platelet count of Sayeed had dropped and he had been infused with additional platelets. The Chief Minister has also developed a severe chest infection for which he was being treated. "Sayeed, who is admitted in AB 8 Intensive Care Unit (ICU) since December 24, is sick, requiring oxygen therapy but hemodynamically stable," AIIMS authorities stated.

"He is conscious, alert and is taking orally. He continues to be on antibiotics, antifungal drugs and supportive therapy and is being closely monitored by a team of experts," a statement issued by the hospital added.

The team of experts monitoring Sayeed's condition include Dr Rita Sood (Professor of Medicines), Prof Mohammad Ashraf
Ganaie (Endocrinologist), Dr Tulika Seth (Hematology) and Prof PN Dogra (Urology), among others.
