Jammu: The Jammu and Kashmir government has asked organisers of New Year eve parties here to seek prior permission from the District Magistrate before planning such events.

"It has come to the notice of the District Administration that various clubs, hotels and banquet halls are organizing parties on New Year eve in their premises on December 31, 2011 where huge gatherings are expected without permissions," officials said.

To ensure safe, secured and enjoyable events, the District Magistrate, Jammu, Sanjeev Verma issued directions to the organisers that they shall obtain prior permission from the District Administration, Police and Traffic Department before organising such events, otherwise it shall be deemed to be an illegal assembly.

There should be no noise pollution and no violation of Traffic Control Act, organisers should earmark suitable places within their premises for parking, keeping in view of security scenario, they will help to keep the road open, it said.
