Jammu: In an effort to provide fillip to the tourism industry, the Jammu and Kashmir government is planning to organize a car rally on the historic Mughal Road on June 25. This is for the second time that a car rally would be organized on the historic road.

Sources in the Tourism department said the State Tourism Minister, Nawang Rigzin Zora, will make a formal declaration in this regard on June 15 in Srinagar.

The rally would witness the participation of contestants from different part of the country along with many foreign participants. Last year, the car rally was organized on June 25.

The preparations for the rally are in full swing. The snow laden roads are being cleared for the rally. To counter any unforeseen circumstances during the rally, places have already been marked for helicopter landing.

Schedule for the rally

The rally would start from Srinagar on June 25 morning and after traversing through Kishtwar, Bhaderwah, Sarthal, Basohli, Mansar, Sarouchar would finally reach Jammu. After a night halt at Jammu on June 25, the rally would start for Mughal Road on June 26 morning and then finally end at Srinagar on June 26 evening. The winner of the rally would be declared on June 27.
