Jammu (Agencies): The Jammu and Kashmir government has declared that Finance Minister Abdul Rahim will be presenting the Budget on March 7 in the State Legislative Assembly.

A provisional calendar has been issued by The Assembly Secretariat for the Budget Session beginning in the winter capital of the state on February 28.

Discussions on proposed Budget will be held on the proposed Budget on March 7 and 8.

Subsequently announcements regarding any changes to the Budget on the basis of the discussions on March 9 will be made, after which it will be passed.

According to the calendar, there will be 25 sittings during the entire Budget Session. "The session will begin on February 28 with the Governor's Address and will conclude on April 9," it said.

"There will be government business from March 1 to March 23 and Appropriation Bills will be taken on March 24," it said.

The Private Members Resolutions will be taken up on April 2 and 6, whereas Private Members Bills will be taken on April 5 and 7, it said, adding that there will be holidays from March 25 to 31.

It will be for the first time that the requests for grants of 28 government departments will be presented and debated to make ministers and bureaucrats accountable legislators, J&K Assembly Speaker Mohammad Akbar Lone said on Tuesday.
