"I urge the present dispensation to sensitise the administration so as to mitigate the problems of the common people... The administration seems to have gone into deep slumber and people are left in distress situation," senior CPI(M) leader MY Tarigami said in a statement here.

He said that the basic needs like ration, power and health care were hardly available to the people in the Valley and a crisis-like situation has emerged. Damaged transformers had not been replaced and low voltage posed problem to not only the student community but also smooth running of health care services, he said.
