"Jammu and Kashmir will be one of the few states in the country where facilities like 'HORTNET' portal would be introduced and the growers of the state will be the first-hand beneficiaries of this programme," Horticulture Minister Raman Bhalla said.

Every effort is being taken for streamlining, promotion and development of horticulture by the government so that farmers, growers and other people associated with it are benefitted, the Minister said while inaugurating a two-day workshop on the introduction of the portal here on Tuesday.

The workshop has been organized by the Department of Horticulture in collaboration with Union Ministry of Agriculture.
