New Delhi:  In a shocking incident, a Professor of prestigious Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) has been accused of molesting a class twelfth girl, who worked as a typist on a temporary basis at the professor's office.

The victim’s family has filed a complaint with the East Vasant Kunj police station. The police have recorded the girl's statement but have not yet filed a case.  "We are investigating the matter," said DCP Chhaya Sharma.

The accused is a senior professor in School of Social Sciences and lives in one of the official quarters in the University campus. The victim’s father also stays within the same premises. He is a fourth grade employee in the University.

The father of the girl has alleged that the professor had wrong intentions. According to him, professor insisted the girl for wrong doings. The matter came in to light when the victim told her parents about her being molested by the professor.

On Friday, the victim’s family filed the complaint alleging that the professor and his son threatened them to vacate the quarters.

The professor has been working on a project for which he requires people to work for him from time to time.  It was six months back when the victim was appointed as a typist by the professor.
