According to the report, Kerry had accepted an invitation extended to visit Pakistan by Sartaj Aziz, advisor on national security and foreign affairs to the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

Kerry was previously expected to arrive in Pakistan on July 29. However, the trip was later postponed due to security reasons.

According to the new itinerary, Kerry would hold meetings on August 1 with the Pakistani President, Prime Minister, and advisor for national security and foreign affairs. Kerry would also meet the top military leadership and will take part in the bilateral strategic dialogue.
