London: The 'Pirates of the Caribbean' star Johnny Depp is all set to make a cameo appearance in the remake of '21 Jump Street'.

Hollywood heartthrob Depp will appear in a small part in the remake, which will star Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill in the lead, reported a website.

Although it is unclear if Depp will reprise his original role, he revealed last year that he had his own plans for the movie.

"If we find the right thing to do, it could be very funny. It sounds like a great idea. It'd be hilarious," the actor had said.

In the new Phil Lord and Christopher Miller-directed movie, Tatum and Hill will play police officers investigating a new drug plaguing a high school and it was Hill's idea to rope in the superstar.

"We wrote a really awesome Johnny Depp cameo. I talked to his agent a few times. I've never met the man. He probably won't do it, but if he does, it will be one I think he'd be proud of, and it's a real crowd pleaser. It's not cheesy," Hill said.
