New Delhi, Feb 01(Agencies): Team India suffer a jolt as Indian veteran Praveen Kumar, who injured his elbow during the South Africa series, has not yet been declared fit to play in the tournament starting February 19,  ahead of the 2011 World Cup, reports said.

Praveen will be heading towards England on Wednesday for an urgent treatment of his elbow, thereby raising eyebrows on whether he would be fit for the mega event to be held in the Indian sub-continent.

After his return from South Africa, Kumar has been recuperating at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore.

Kumar has been crucial to the think-tank''s scheme of things in one-dayers, bowling tight overs and giving the team the much-needed break throughs. He has been fairly successful with the new as well as the old ball, and often used the long handle to good effect.

According to sources, if Praveen is declared unfit for the World Cup, pacer S Sreesanth, who was earlier dropped by the selectors, could be roped in as a replacement.
